PRESS RELEASE ‘SKETCH4POSTIE’ DOG SAFETY CAMPAIGN COVID19 CRISIS – RELEASE 27TH APRIL

The current pandemic crisis has put huge strain on us all. Many of our frontline CWU colleagues working in Royal Mail, Parcel force, BT and open reach are key workers who now face an increased likelihood of being bitten by dogs. This is because during school holidays we incur a significant increase in animal related attacks which can often result in life changing injuries.

We are now in effect on a long school holiday, so our risk of being bitten by a dog will remain significantly high for a period of time. We are therefore asking those children who are sketching support messages for key workers to consider doing a ‘Sketch4postie’ window poster showing their dog. Our colleagues can then be more aware when approaching those properties that there is a dog resident. You can also help us my making sure your dog does not have access to the front door or garden and is shut away before you open the door.

If you email us a copy of your sketch you may even win a prize! Children can email us their sketch to- cwunwreg@gmail.com

Remember- Sketch your dog, don’t fetch your dog
