The Yellow Dog Project
The Yellow Dog Project recognizes some dogs need more space.. What we’ve learnt from studying how other industries prevent injuries is that sometimes, increasing awareness of a potential risk by improving visibility is beneficial. A person can then take steps to avoid a potentially risky situation. to the Yellow Dog project is often used to indicate dogs which need space from other dogs, but can also include:
- In training
- Anxious
- Female in season
- Elderly
- Blind
- Deaf
Placing a yellow coat, ribbon or bandana on a dog will raise awareness of them needing more space from both people and other dogs.
